PREPARING FOR ONLINE THERAPY

Ease Into Your Healing Journey

Telehealth sessions offer the flexibility to meet from the comfort of your own home. Before our first session, I recommend finding a quiet, private space where you feel safe and uninterrupted. We will use a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform for our video calls to maintain your confidentiality and comfort throughout our sessions together.

Answering Your Questions

What can I expect from our first telehealth session?

Our initial meeting is designed to prioritize your comfort and sense of safety. We will explore what brings you to counseling, your personal history, and your goals. My focus is on creating a warm, empathetic environment where you feel empowered to share your challenges at your own pace.

How does the IFS (Internal Family Systems) model help?

IFS therapy views the mind as having various 'parts' that carry different emotions or beliefs. We work to uncover your core 'Self'—the compassionate, calm observer—to help heal wounded parts and restore internal balance. It is a powerful tool for self-understanding and emotional resilience.

Do you accept insurance for telehealth services?

Accepted insurance plans include Aetna, Regence BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna, Cigna EAP, Kaiser Permanente Northwest, PacificSource, Providence Health Plan, UnitedHealth Plan, UnitedHealthcare, and UnitedHealthcare EAP.

How do I prepare for my first online counseling session?

To get the most out of our time, please find a private, comfortable space with a stable internet connection. Having headphones can enhance privacy. I use a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform to ensure that our conversations remain confidential and protected.

What is the difference between individual and family therapy sessions?

Individual sessions focus on your unique internal landscape, while family therapy addresses the patterns and dynamics between members. In family work, we utilize a Strengths Based lens to identify resources and build healthier attachments within your home environment.
